“I have seen firsthand, in places as diverse as Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Liberia, Costa Rica and Washington, D.C., how Raúl Goméz-Rojas captivates both performing musicians and audiences alike. He is equally at home on the podium as he is performing chamber music on the violin with members of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra… Raúl’s positive attitude and enthusiasm make him a joy to be with.”
Craig Mumm - Associate Principal Viola, the MET Orchestra, New York
“I have known Raúl through our work together at YOA. At first meeting, he immediately impressed me with his enthusiasm, integrity, calm yet strong leadership skills, trustworthy and reliable personality but most importantly his tremendous knowledge and love for music. Raul is an enormously accomplished musician and a highly gifted conductor. His ability to inspire children and young adults to make music to the best of their ability is astonishing.
He is a very rare breed indeed.”

“Mississippi was indeed most fortunate to have the conducting brilliance of Raúl Gómez-Rojas. Upon his arrival on the first day of the Premier Orchestral Institute, the student musicians were very responsive to his enthusiastic and patient style. He was able to motivate them to excel to their absolute best and the level of mastery of the music he was able to garner from them after just one week was incredible.”
