MYS S.O. Rehearsal Notes - 9/17/19
Sectional + full orchestra rehearsal plan for 9/21
This coming Saturday is our first day of sectional rehearsals. (For those of you who are new to the orchestra: most concert terms we have 3 weeks of sectionals. We invite guest coaches from the Oregon Symphony and other local professional ensembles).
This week all woodwinds will be together with me, each brass section will be separate and all strings will be together. Below is the rehearsal:
9:30am-10:45am: Sectionals
- Woodwinds: Beethoven (movs 3 & 4)
- Brass: Tower
- Strings: Beethoven (movs 3 & 4)
11:00am-12:30pm: Full Orchestra
- Tower, For the Uncommon Woman
Updated Seating Rosters
It turns out that a couple of people who were marked as "no video" in the seating rosters did turn out videos before the deadline. We missed your e-mail or didn't copy your video link to our spreadsheet. Sorry about that.
Those of you who did NOT submit a video, this is a reminder that you are still required to do so in order to be eligible to play the November concert.
I have updated the seating rosters here. Make sure to refresh the page once you're there.
Play The Nutcracker!
We still have spots available for The Nutcracker for flute, violin, viola and bass. Please reply to this e-mail if you're interested. Rehearsal schedule and performance information is available here.
Joan Tower's For the Uncommon Woman
I have a couple of short videos for you to watch:
- Short interview of Joan Tower (10 minutes, by Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra). She is awesome!
- Live performance of For the Uncommon Woman by the Interlochen Arts Academy Symphony Orchestra (awesome young people like you!)
